Michael Liu

Biography:

Michael Liu (刘毅强）is the founder and the Secretary-General of the Chinese Initiative on International Criminal Justice (CIICJ), an NGO whose mandate is to promote a better understanding of international justice in the Chinese context and in the greater China region, including by promoting the universality of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Previously Michael Liu worked for Fangda Partners, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) East Asia Delegation, the ICC and the ECCC in various capacities. Michael also teaches courses on international humanitarian law, international human rights law and international criminal law at the Royal University of Law and Economics (Cambodia). Michael has an LLB and an LLM from Renmin University of China and was admitted to the All China Lawyers Association of the People’s Republic of China in 2010.
